Puppy Curriculum

What drives us:

Lucky Labradoodles believes excellent genetics AND how that puppy is raised during its early developmental weeks are both crucial to raising the best possible puppies.
We strive to send our pups to their new homes confident, attentive and capable. In order to produce these traits, our puppies are carefully raised following a well-structured curriculum. We go above and beyond most breeders to truly empower our puppies and ensure they experience everything they can to prepare for any future lifestyle.

  • ENS/ESI

(ESI) is a training program for puppies designed to enhance their ability to identify, and react to, specific scents. During a specific time in development a puppy is introduced to a strong scent for brief intervals. This is done when a pup is stable and not experiencing other stressors.

  • Early Sound Exposure

On day 18, 19, and 20, we conduct a brief “loud noise exposure” with the puppies, such as banging a spoon on a metal pan three times. At this early age, puppies do not yet fear sound, so we use this opportunity to get a jump start on desensitization of loud noises. Other noises are also incorporated in the days following to help a puppy adjust to noises they will likely encounter in life.

  • Touch Tolerance

Puppies need safety to grow and develop. It is also crucial to expose pups to various touches and experiences they’ll likely experience in life. We do touch exposure in a slow and safe way so pups thrive and develop into their best selves. Pups are also exposed to frequent nail grinding and grooming to set them up for success in your home.
